BOARDING
Policy:
We do require a health certificate from a veterinarian stating that your bird is free of disease.  It would include blood and fecal tests. Birdcamp reserves the right to deny boarding to any bird that we deem unwell regardless of the health certificate. We are not responsible for sickness unless it is a result of gross negligence. In the event the bird becomes ill while in our care we will have the bird treated by a qualified veterinarian immediately.
Please make a reservation in advance.  Cages are disinfected the day before so that you can walk in and see your bird in the cage.  Last minute reservations are disruptive for the store.  Even so we will do our best to accommodate you!
The minimum boarding charge is for a two day stay.  We will be charging by the day, so if you drop your bird off before noon and pick your bird up after 1PM you will be charged for both days.
Out of the cage time is permitted only at our discretion for safety.
Please bring your bird in a carrier.  We provide disinfected cages and have little room to store your cage.
Rates:
Rates are determined by the cage size – there are 2 sizes available for Med to Large parrots.  Large cockatoos and Macaws are kept in a 36X24 Floor cage.  There is an additional cage for major holidays – Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.
Additional charges may be applied to certain foods, medical care (giving medicine, etc).
Please inquire about special rates for extended stays.. The price with vary with seasons.
Food:
We provide all the foods that we currently stock.  In the case of birds that require a specialty food such as Nekton Lory, etc there will be an extra charge or you may provide your own. All birds have their main food at all times. In addition they will get fresh fruit and vegetables at midday and special treats in the evening.  Special treats include Avicakes, Nutriberries, Golden Feast Tropical Fruit, or Cooked foods. All food and water dishes are disinfected daily.  Fresh water is provided twice a day (more if necessary).
Please do not bring perishable food for more than a day’s supply.  We don’t have the facility to store it at this time.  We’ll do our best to provide any birds with a favorite food.  We do monitor them to be sure they are eating and offer alternative food to entice them if we sense they are not eating.
